Venue with a difference

Long serving delegates who attended the last LGA Annual Conference hosted by Hastings in 1987 will notice that the area has certainly moved from strength to strength. As well as major town centre works and prestigious residential canal developments, a key feature will be the new Conference venue.

Overlooking the picturesque canals and Hastings River, the Convention Centre at the Port Macquarie RSL Club has a state of the art auditorium with seating capacity for 1,000 people. In addition to the usual club facilities, there is a number of quality restaurants, bistros and cafes.

Adjacent to the RSL Club is Settlement City Shopping Centre. This Centre offers a very convenient range of speciality and other retail outlets. A highlight of the Conference venue is its Trade Fair or Exhibition facilities. In a combined indoor/outdoor setting, delegates can peruse many products and services available to Councils, as well as enjoy a cup of coffee and refreshments, with an idyllic outlook over the River.
