EXPOse Yourself to the Best in Energy Efficiency*1999 Energy Smart Expo - 8th November 1999Virtually every local Council in Australia now has some form of environmental policy relating to energy efficiency and sustainable development. The 1999 Sustainable Energy Industry Association (SEIA) Energy Smart EXPO is a national event that illustrates just why there is an ever growing demand for sustainable energy solutions in all sectors. To be held at Australian Technology Park in Sydney on Monday, 8 November, the EXPO offers government representatives a unique opportunity to see presentations and exhibitions of the latest in cutting edge environmental technology and energy smart practices. Now in its second year, EXPO will combine internationally renowned keynote speakers with an afternoon of case study seminars and a comprehensive tradeshow. Delegates will hear first hand examples of energy efficiency in action and find out more about the assistance and rebates available to them through Energy Performance Contracting and the Government Energy Management Policy. Lindsay Audin of EnergyWiz Inc in New York, and a pioneer of the global energy management industry, will shed light on the many ways to profit from energy efficiency in his key note address. Australian expert Alan Tate, of Ecos Corporation, will offer an Environmental Update from Cop 5 and Gwen Andrews of the Australian Greenhouse Office will provide a rundown of Australia's national position on greenhouse. The series of Case Study presentations will be held in Residential Building, Commercial Building, and Government and Institutional Energy Management. Topics include: Making the Energy Smart Homes Policy Work for You; the Energy Performance Contracting Process; The Energy Smart High School, the ACT Experience with Mandatory Home Energy Ratings and many, many more. The Energy Smart EXPO will conclude with cocktails and an awards ceremony that will see the presentation of the second Energy Smart Homes Award for outstanding achievements in the implementation of energy smart initiatives by a local Council. The winning Council will receive a trophy and environmental training for five staff from the Australian Municipal Energy Improvement Facility.
