Proactive Council wins Active Australia AwardSalisbury City Council in South Australia, one of the most proactive Councils in the Active Australia Local Government Network, won the Local Government section of the 1999 Active Australia Awards. Council won the award for its work in establishing a collaborative approach to the promotion and delivery of physical activity at grassroots level. Salisbury Council features on page 2 in this supplement. The Active Australia Awards recognise the contributions and achievements made to sport and physical activity by members of the three Active Australia networks. The 2000 Awards feature a new Active Australia Network Award. Judges will select an overall winner from the eight category winners with the winner receiving the Peak Network Award. The Active Australia Awards 2000 will be presented on 30 November 2000 at Parliament House in Canberra. |
