Total Staging - Everything you need to stage a great eventWith no shortage of spectacular scenery in Australia, staging events such as concerts in places like Launceston's Cataract Gorge or the Flinders Ranges is very popular. Such events enhance cultural development, achieve community togetherness and can be a useful fundraiser. But getting a temporary professional standard stage to the right place can be costly. Temporary stage systems freighted from the mainland had proved particularly expensive for Tasmanian Councils. As a result Launceston City Council bought its own transportable professional stage to take advantage of its many scenic sites. Support Services Administrator, Rick Dunn, said the stage system was purchased to save on having to freight major equipment from the mainland every time Council wanted to stage an outdoors event. However, the opportunity for it to be rented by other organisations in the State was also a factor. "It is not just about the nuts and bolts of it," Rick explained. "Over the years we have built up strong partnerships with many local organisations that supply quality equipment, security and other aspects of event management." Marketed as Total Staging, it is part of Total Workforce, which is owned by Launceston City Council. Together with the stage, it has developed a complete Event Management Package including sound systems, security provision and every other component needed for a successful event. "We can bring readymade teamwork to any event," Rick said. "We have become a highly experienced and familiar group that can work together instantly to put on a great event in the right place. "We now have it available to any organisation in Tasmania wanting to stage a professional event. The stage, or any component of the package, can be readily transported to any part of the State within two hours." This means any organisation in Tasmania can use Total Staging, or any component of it, saving them from having to freight the equipment at great expense. Rick Dunn said the Event Management Package is highly flexible and already in great demand across Tasmania, not only from Councils, but from many other organisations.
