Name change reflects company's new direction *Local Government is perfectly poised to take advantage of the new Internet based trading communities to deliver tangible benefits to their constituents, both buyers and sellers. Trading communities will work more effectively when there is already a financial tie in between the sponsor organisation, that is Council, and the consumer and supplier. This challenges the very notion of the business model being supplier led rather than end user led. "The supplier led rather than end user led business model is flawed," said Ossie Pisanu, Managing Director, AXS One. "Councils are already at the centre of their communities and by adopting the end user business model they will strengthen their communities further and reap the benefits by promoting trade within a geographical region." AXS One (the former Computron Software Australia) has identified a major business issue confronting virtually every business in the world &endash; how to take advantage of the Internet in business so that everyone in the supply chain is a winner? The company has developed an innovative approach to enable businesses to transform themselves from the 'old bricks and mortar' operation to the 'new clicks and mortar' operation rapidly and cost effectively. The approach is called e-Celleration and the products are called e-Cellerators. With most of its revenues coming from these new products and the new economy, a name more reflective of its business was needed. This has culminated in the company changing its name to AXS One. The company's self service applications, Information management and Web portal products are in the AXSPoint family of solutions, and its transaction-oriented solutions for procurement and customer service are in the TransAXS family of solutions. AXS ties in the family name of products and 'One' reflects the fact that the company intends to be number one in the markets it operates in. The company's new tagline 'Access tomorrow today' fits in with the e-cellerator concept. That is, organisations can transform their business into a new economy model without throwing away their current infrastructure and starting again. They get to where they want to go quickly, cost effectively, and with low risk and a higher return on investment. AXS One solutions can be used in many other parts of the organisation besides the finance function.
