The waterless way of answering nature's call

While Waterless Systems and the waterless technology are new to Australia, the waterless urinal has been successfully installed in more than 29 countries around the world. The German government has legislated to ensure its use, and this has seen the installation of some 7000 units in rest stops, service stations, and restaurants along the autobahns, underscoring the product's credibility.

The system operates with the use of a specially designed cartridge that forms a trap seal unit. Urine immerses through the liquid sealant, which creates a barrier preventing any odours from being released into the atmosphere. The urine then passes harmlessly into the sewage system.

"The response has been positive with no complaints or incidents. The installation at Railway Park Byron Bay is high profile and has generated interest and no doubt a positive image for Council. We believe the waterless urinals are a important element in a good demand strategy."
