Velo-city 2001International conference focusing on pedal power Edinburgh and Glasgow will host the international cycle planning conference, Velo-city 2001, on 17-21 September 2001. Launched in 1980, Velo-city has quickly became the world’s premier conference for people interested in the part cycling can play in town planning, transport reform and civil engineering. Velo-city has played an active part in the debate on these issues, and has introduced new themes that are becoming increasingly important. This year’s conference will again broaden the horizons. Velo-city 2001 will appeal to government and non government agencies alike, and the program promises a balanced and absorbing mix of information and debate. This year’s event allows delegates the chance to cycle between the host cities on the middle day of the event. A cutting edge agenda that brings cycling together on a range of issues has resulted in Velo-city 2001 becoming a conference that cannot be missed. The five conference ‘tracks’ include the following.
