Forging a sustainable future for northern NSW

The NSW Government’s Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) and the Coffs Harbour City Council are pleased to be hosting the second annual regional sustainability seminar series on 23 April 2002 at the Norm Jordan Pavilion at Coffs Harbour Showground.

The seminar offers a unique opportunity to address sustainability issues relevant to regional communities and explore the potential of partnerships between SEDA, regional Councils and local industry groups to achieve a sustainable future.

The sustainable energy sector is set to play a vital role in the global response to the greenhouse threat. According to SEDA Executive Director Mark Fogarty, a strong and competitive industry here in NSW will be able to cash in on international markets worth billions.

The seminar is one of three regional programs that have been tailored to each location and will offer updates on new and established projects including the following.

  • Forests, timber and sustainable energy
  • Coffs Harbour City Council’s sustainability case study
  • Biodiesel prospects in NSW
  • Energy Smart homes and products
  • Investing in sustainability
  • Wind farm development
  • Agricultural waste to energy.

The seminar organisers are grateful for the support of sponsors Country Energy, Interbath, Toyota and NSW Department of State and Regional Development’s ‘New Market Expansion’ program, whose valuable assistance has ensured the delivery of a quality and value added program.
