Summit offers international investment opportunitiesHundreds of senior civic and business leaders from cities throughout the Asia Pacific region will converge on Brisbane from 31 August to 3 September for the sixth Asia Pacific Cities Summit. Recognised as the region’s premier government and business forum, this year’s theme is ‘Renewing Asia Pacific Cities’ and will focus on business growth, trade, investment and economic outcomes for delegates. An initiative of Brisbane City Council, the summit has been held biennially since 1999, the host city rotating between Brisbane and bidding cities in the Asia Pacific region. Brisbane City Council and Austrade have joined forces to match inbound business delegations with potential customers, suppliers and partners in the following sectors:
The Asia Pacific Cities Summit’s ‘Sister Cities Day’ on Friday 31 August will also feature presentations on offshore trade and investment opportunities in Brisbane’s seven sister cities, including Auckland (New Zealand), Chongqing and Shenzhen (People’s Republic of China), Daejeon (Republic of Korea), Kaohsiung (Taiwan), Kobe (Japan) and Semarang (Indonesia).
